Reintroducing cab sharing
OVERVIEW
The project tackles challenges faced by cab aggregator services like Uber and Ola in India, such as reduced driver income, high ride cancellations, and user dissatisfaction. It introduces a redesigned cab-sharing model using a "room" system, where users can create or join shared rides based on destination, pricing, ETA, and safety preferences like female-only rides.
The model optimizes routes within a 2 km radius to minimize delays and maximize efficiency. Riders and drivers earn carbon credits for sustainable travel, which can be redeemed for rewards. This approach aims to increase revenue, reduce costs, enhance safety, and encourage environmentally conscious commuting.
